Open call :: SAC-FIC Curatorial Residency Program 2018

SAC-FiC Programa de Residencia Curatorial es el nuevo programa de residencias de Sant Andreu Contemporani y Fabra i Coats - Fàbrica de Creació de Barcelona, dirigido a comisarios internacionales. En el marco de este programa, se abre una convocatoria para seleccionar un comisario internacional, que formará parte del jurado del Concurs d’Arts Visuals Premi Miquel Casablancas 2018 y desarrollará un proyecto curatorial con una selección de los artistas presentados a concurso. El proyecto deberá presentarse en el país de residencia del comisario. La residencia cubre los honorarios por la deliberación del premio y el desarrollo de la propuesta curatorial (1.700 €), la producción de la exposición (2.000 €), el alojamiento y los viajes.

El objetivo de la convocatoria es ofrecer un conocimiento personal del contexto artístico a través de la convocatoria del Premi Miquel Casablancas y fomentar colaboraciones futuras entre agentes locales y extranjeros en el marco del arte joven.

El plazo de inscripción será del 14 de diciembre de 2017 al 20 de enero de 2018. El formulario de registro se cerrará a las 24 h del 20 de enero y no se aceptarán solicitudes más allá de este horario. En caso de incidencias con el formulario de registro on-line será necesario hacer llegar la documentación requerida por correo electrónico antes de las 24 h del 20 de enero de 2018.


El candidato seleccionado se hará público el 10 de febrero de 2018.

SAC-FIC Curatorial Residency Program 2018 is the new residency program at Barcelona’s Sant Andreu Contemporary and Fabra i Coats - Fabrica de Creació available to international curators. As part of the program, we are announcing an open call for proposals to choose an international curator who will be part of the Miquel Casablancas Prize for the Visual Arts’ jury in 2018, and will later develop a curatorial project with a selection of artists chosen from applicants to the prize. The project must be presented at the country of residence of the curator. The residency covers the expenses of jurying the prize and for the curatorial proposal (1,700 €), for the production of the exhibition (2,000 €), accommodation and travel.

The purpose of the open call is to offer the curator personal knowledge of the art context through involvement in the jury of the Miquel Casablancas Prize, and to foster, in the context of young art talent, future collaborations between local and foreign cultural actors.

The registration period to send the application is going to be from December 14th, 2017, to January 20th, 2018. The submission form will be available at the website until midnight, January 20th. No applications will be accepted after this time. In case of incidents with the online registration, the required documents should then be sent by mail before midnight, January 20th, 2018.

The selected applicant will be announced on February 10th, 2018.
